System Quality Assessment services

Our System Quality Assessment (SQA) is a service for System Builders. It is a unique, fast and inexpensive way to determine how a system meets the quality bar set by the "Designed for Windows" logo program.

An SQA is useful when a system is known not to comply in one or more areas and the Logo is not an option, yet you wish to be fully confident regarding a system's stability and compatibility in other areas.

Systems that do not carry the "Designed for Windows" logo may contain any number of issues that can frustrate end users. Systems that contain incompatible hardware or drivers, or are incorrectly configured have higher support costs and higher product returns than systems that carry the logo. Customers demand quality. An SQA will help you to know exactly what the issues are so that you can address them before your customers know, even if you do not wish to obtain a logo.

How can you benefit from a System Quality Assessment?

Resellers can make informed purchasing decisions
If you consider selling a System that has not previously received the "Designed for Windows" logo, it is important to assess whether the System in question meets the "Designed for Windows" logo requirements. Why not test before you make the purchasing decision?.

System Builders can catch potential support issues early on
Your choices of logo'd components are limited. If you have decided to use a component that is not logo'd in your system, it is important to know whether the system is still stable and provides the expected functionality when used with Windows in order to guarantee the best experience for your customers. By assessing the overall quality of a System before you ship it to customers, you can prevent lots of product returns and support calls.

What types of tests do we run

hen you sign up for a System Quality Assessment project, we will peform a full System Test and send you an extensive test case summary report. Within a few days, you will know whether or not a System is of high quality.

Testing for Quality Assessment includes the following:

  • We run the Hardware Compatibility Tests (HCT) for the sample test System.
  • As part of the HCT we will verify the structure and syntax of all installed driver INF files and diagnose driver related issues for all installed components.
  • We will use the "Driver Verifier" to make sure that kernel-mode drivers and graphics drivers for all installed components are not making illegal function calls or causing system corruption. This test will perform a large number of checks on the drivers and subject them to a variety of stresses and tests to flush out improper behavior.
  • When incompatibilities are found, we exchange the component in question for a known good component to obtain detailed information for you to help improve the system.
  • We test the System for specific power states. This way, you will know whether the System can return correctly from various power states.

What does a System Quality Assessment include?

  • Full system quality assessment as described above.
  • One complete SQA Conclusion report.
  • Timely email when a test fails.
  • 24h Real-time project status checking via your My Craiton product page
  • Your hardware.

The Test Results Conclusion report is confidential. We do not share it with Microsoft or with any other third party.
