Device Testing Services

The "Designed for Microsoft® Windows®" logo helps customers identify that devices deliver a high-quality computing experience with Windows operating systems.

CraitonTesting Device Testing is a service for Device Manufacturers and Device Resellers. It is the fastest way to get logo certification for your devices. Within a week you know if your hardware complies with the high "Designed for Windows" compatibility standards set by Microsoft.

CraitonTesting will test your device against the "Designed for Windows" logo requirements. The tests include large number of checks on the drivers and the device and subject them to a variety of stresses and tests to flush out improper behavior. Additionally, the driver will be verified for signability. After testing is completed, we can either make a logo submission for you or return the test results via email or on a CD.

Why do I need to test my device?

"Designed for Windows" testing ensures that product meets WHQL compatibility requirements for Windows. Products that have been tested can be expected to work well with Windows and give customers a better experience. Testing your products drastically helps reduce costs (support and product returns), verifies the quality of your hardware and reduces time to market.

Devices without a logo will not necessarily cause problems. However, devices that are incorrectly designed or have improperly written drivers can be frustrating to use by end-users. They can result in reduced functionality or instability in Windows, including conflicts with other devices. CraitonTesting can help you identify problems early and help you address them before your customers call you for support.

Furthermore ...

  • System Builders who want to logo their systems can use your device in their systems if your device has the logo.
  • For certified hardware, Microsoft collects online crash data for your driver allowing you to see real world scenario's how drivers behave.
  • End-users installing your hardware will no longer see "this driver is potentially dangerous and can make your system unstable"-dialog.
  • Resellers who consider your device for resale will look for the Designed for Windows" logo. It will tell them that you take quality as seriously as them.
  • End users who wish to purchase additional hardware can see your devices in the Tested Product List (TPL).
  • Drivers for your device can be distributed world-wide via Windows Update.
